polyfreshtv

Hey people check out the Video Bar to the right. Polynesian TV at it's best. Homegrown humor of Polynesian kiwis well known to New Zealander's the world over. Well I think it's funny. If you don't well..you smell. LOL

Football Fever Yo!

Oh man, it is that time of year where we separate the Men from the Boys/Girls/Women and Children! Costumes on and make haste to our man caves, but don't forget the Hot Wings your beautiful wife or girlfriend have graciously made for you. We got the bro's, brew's and b.b.q. all happening and head butting each other as we anxiously wait for our teams to run the tunnel! I love this time of year, over Christmas even. It's where us men can speak a language unknown to the female species, a language only men of great love for the sport can only comprehend. But need i remind you and myself that none of this will be happening where I'm at. I'm still in New Zealand and in NZ football isn't that big. We don't have man caves, well at least not to american standard and we don't have hot wings. However, in every backyard, there is a BBQ ready to fire up and with brew's too. But you see, I may need to remind you and myself again that I don't drink unless it's hardcore OJ with pulp, I'm good.

This Monday coming up is the Pro Bowl. And who will I be supporting? NFC of course! The NFC side has insurmountable talent to burn, so much talent not all were able to be selected. But I'm happy to know the resurrected Micheal Vick will be pulling the reigns and Display a QB showcase that has been missing from the NFL in quite some time. One of my favorite players who also happens to be from my favorite team, Patrick Willis has been selected again to start as MLB. Well deserved from what some may say a forgotten season. No doubt will he play his best and can't wait what he'll dish out to them AFC poocracks!

Then we have Super Bowl XLV (don't ask me what number) lol. A far much bigger stage. Certainly the biggest event to happen at Cowboy Stadium since ages of time. Cowboys suck, i will say that, so be glad the rest of the world will focus their hard earned energy for this event, to your city. This is gonna be a cracker of a game!! Many will ask who will 'I' have my money on?? Psshh, Pittsburgh Steelers of course! They've been here many times before, 8 times to be exact and have won 6 so far with one on the way! Yes, I said it! The Pittsburgh Steelers will win! Why am I rooting for an AFC team to win? Well in actual fact, I'm not. It is because one of my favorite players hails from steeler country and is a rugged, hard hitting and intelligent player, yes Troy Polamalu. I love watching him read plays and execute last second decisions which result in devastation for the receiving player. So I hope he gets what he again deserves, a hit, a win and a ring. GO TROY!

That's me I think.
Can't wait for all this to come to pass in a few more days! Good luck to all teams! Have fun, because I know I will!  www.nfl.com

Alone, but Not Lonely

Although we may never be in such frightening situations ourselves, loneliness can have the same impact on us as it had on them. We never need to be ashamed or feel guilty about feelings of loneliness; but we do have to fight them. There are two ways individuals attempt to cope with loneliness—a negative one and a positive one. The first is a way of self-pity, of criticism, of anger, of unjust blame, and of discontent. It does not lead us out of loneliness.
The second method, the right way out of loneliness, is to engage in meaningful activities such as church and service. This means helping others who are more in need than we. There is a saying: “I was sad about not having shoes, until I met someone without feet.” Peace comes as we give our lives to worthwhile activities in spite of being alone.
I miss my wife dearly. We are at a stage in our lives where important decisions had to be made. My return to New Zealand by myself was that of sadness, despair and not know when I'll be returning back to my wife. It is hard. It is expensive. But it must be done.
I think of the teachings of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and how it's helped both kersha and I overcome our situation with the constant help of our Father in Heaven. Being apart was and is never easy. There is nothing like having your eternal companion by your side, to pick you up, to hold your hand and embrace with loving and gentle care.
I know that our Heavenly Father constantly watches over us and is aware of our situation, and when the time comes where Kersha and I will reunite, it is only because our Heavenly Father has heard our prayers and blessed us for it. I cannot wait when that time comes.
I love you Kersha and although I'm over 6,000 miles away our love is eternal. =)
May our Heavenly Father continue to watch over us at this time.

The Kiwi Way of Life :)

When I think of home I think of the many things that makes New Zealand...well practically, New Zealand. I mean where else in the world you gonna find 100:1 Ratio of sheep or L&P or the oil drenched fish accompanied with hot chips and Watties sauce? Aaah I'll tell you... NO WHERE! And that people is why New Zealand branches away from everyone and everything else.
As a youngster, I recall the days my mum would send me and my brother up the road to the Fish'n'Chips shop and order $5 chips, 8 fish, 8 fritters, 8 Sausages, 2 2ltr Bottles of L&P and a loaf of bread. We had dinner sussed! You'd find it at the beach. Around the corner from every home. Fish'n'Chips is here to stay. It's what makes Kiwis, Kiwis. Secondly, the rugby. It's a male dominated sport, but the girls could hit just as hard and run just as fast lol. It's a favorite pastime I think, where sons and fathers would actually sit down together, weather its at the actual game or at home on the box. It was the only time where Fathers and sons would agree with eachother. We love seeing our Boys in Black smashing the opponents especially against them darn Aussies. We have a Love-Hate relationship, don't get me wrong the aussie people are good people, but when it comes to the ruggers, it's war!!
Lastly our beautiful Country, truly Gods Country. Untouched. Clean and Clear. Safe. Very Diverse. We just seem to all get along. That's mainly why New Zealand will always be home to me. So back to kicking back and relaxing, sipping on my L&P.

Discover Orange Bowl 2011- REVENGE OF THE NERDS!

Damn!! That's all I gotta say!! Damn!! But I shall add in a few extras. Congratulations to my Team STANFORD for an awesome display of team work, persistence, diligence, finesse, swagger and smarts! As I was watching the game on ESPN, something good came over me. I felt that this team in Cardinal Red could actually do this. Yeah, in the early stages of the game it is normal that any team have the jitters, but as time drew, things started to pick up and go pretty much Stanford's way. I loved seeing how Mr. Andrew Luck controlled the game with poise and composure. He handled almost every situation flawlessly. Virginia Tech were messy, confused and annoyed. Ok, wow, Tyrod Taylor went into beast mode and threw an immaculate TD just as he was on his way out into the Stanford sideline, I'll give him that. But mate, if you're gonna rant and ramble, you best be backing it up.
So why am I posting this? Because I'm proud, that nerds can ball too! We give them stick about their appearance, the way they speak and why they're brainier than all of us. Stanford I would say is a prestigious institution where the best are with the best who continue to be the best and more recently, are the best!
So I'm a Cardinal for life, as I am with the San Francisco 49er's, so no matter weather the Cards suck next season or when the 49er's finally decide to win games, I'm a card for life! Although I'm new to this NCAA & NFL Football I intend to keep learning about my teams and the sport. I come from a country that a sport similar to football, wear no pads nor do they wear helmets, just flesh and bones and balls of steel, but that will be in a later post and believe you me, I will go all out why Rugby is more of a mans sport than any other in the world hahaha. So again Congratulations to the STANFORD CARDINALS for winning the 2011 Discover Orange Bowl. Good luck to Coach Harbaugh and Andrew Luck for their future Endevours!

I know my wife loves me because...

It is ideal that man must have "Me" time. So when that opportunistic time comes I take it with open arms! So what do I do when that "Time" comes? I look into my wifes eyes and say, "hun, you know I love right? And that I will do anything for you?". Without fail she'll have one hand on the hip, head slightly tilted to the left and replies, "aaahhh yeah"? Thats when I slowly brush her away from the TV and Kiss her as I politely escort her out the room and then say, "ok see you in 3hours!". I'd quickly close (slam) the door, make sure its locked and turn that TV on!! It's the NFL season yo!! But it was a season that was easily forgotten. My beloved San Francisco 49er's had a pitiful season! So bad, that I almost convinced myself that next season I'm becoming an Oakland Raider Fan! Can you believe me? Do you see me wearing Black and Silver??Ugh!! Anyways, while I'm whining away in the room sobbing because some clown by the name of Smith, first name Alex threw unnecessary INT's, my wife softly knocks on the door and asks if everything is ok. You see, my wife is a soft spoken person and no matter what the situation she seems to find ways to calm whatever is around her right down. I hop out of my body contoured bed and open the door. We sit. And she listens to me. She listens to my analysis of the football game. She listens and notices how mad I am deep down inside. She listens to me. She calms me with her soft spoken voice. I'm grateful for her patience, even though I pretty much kicked her outta the room, she walks in and listens. That's how I know she loves me. And that's why fellas, I love her.

XXVIII-XI-MMIX Always and Forever...

Knowing we will be together forever has made me realize how important my wife is to me. Kersha Mataiti is truly my best friend, my buddy, my inspiration, my police, my ambulance, my happiness and the list goes on! But one important part of her that makes me who I am today is her constant, unconditional Love for me.

I have always had my eye on Kersha ever since I laid my eyes on her. I was a Scared lonesome man who had no guts to ask any girl out. Being on my mission was one of the greatest experiences in my life, and having to end my mission and start another was scary. I remember the words of my mission president at my last interview with him, words i will never forget, he said “Elder Mataiti, when you go home, you find yourself a choice young lady. She will make you laugh, she will make you mad, but never forget, that she will always Love you!” He continues to say “you have been a fine Missionary and have served with many, I want you to find a young lady that matches your standards within the Gospel, you will take her to the House of the Lord and be sealed for Time & Eternity”. Thank you President Staples for the Kind words.

So who asked who out first? If you know us very well, it sure wasn’t me!lol! I’m so glad that my beautiful had asked me out, again i was afraid of rejection. I hate knowing the fact that a guy as ugly as me could walk up to a beautiful girl and ask her on a date, it just wouldn’t make sense? I remember Mt. Eden. A place where we made history. A beautiful Box with contents i could only image of having was in my grasp. But the box revealed a different type of content. It had a message, it read ” Will you go out with me - Kersha”. For a very quick second I thought to myself “Gee whizz” what the heck do i do here?? I had felt this feeling i have never felt before in my life, it was of surety and it was made clear to me that this was the time. I remember the words of my Mission President at that very moment. This was it! She was the one! And with a shaky peep i said YES!! We celebrated afterwards, oh i forgot to mention that Kersha’s friend Rachael and my older Sister Michelle were present at the time both of whom initiated  this whole set-up. I felt so good about this, in fact so good, that i knew Kersha was this young lady President Staples warned me about lol.

I’m so happy to have met such a bright, beautiful young lady. Life continued for us for a further 3 years. It was like as if we were married already. We had some bad times, but a lot more fun and happier times. We have loved each other for so long that it was time that we got serious. Considering marriage was a huge step for us, but we knew we had the full support of our family and friends, which made the decision to get marred that much easier. But i will end it here. I will throw up pictures of our wonderful time together as Boyfriend and Girlfriend and as Husband and Wife.

I dedicate this all to my beautiful wife.
I love you.
